• Community River Cleanup

    Saturday, August 15th | 9 AM - 12 PM | Prairie Du Chien, WI

  • Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Living Lands & Waters!

    On August 15, we'll be hosting a community river cleanup, launching from Campion Landing in Prairie du Chien, WI. After a brief safety orientation, volunteers will board LL&W's 30-foot jon boats and travel the Mississippi and Wisconsin Rivers to shoreline cleanup sites. We'll pull onto pre-scouted riverbanks to remove trash before returning by boat at the end of the event.

    Get ready for a unique day on the river and the chance to make a real difference!

  • Thank you! We just ask that each volunteer under the age of 18 be accompanied by an adult, and that our young volunteers are able to navigate safely in boats and on shorelines/ among debris.

  • ***Online Volunteer Waiver must be completed by every participant before arriving to a cleanup.***

    Suggestions of what to wear or bring: 

    • Boots or old athletic shoes
    • Long pants
    • Loose clothing for hot weather
    • Layers of warm clothes during early spring or late fall cleanups
    • Hat
    • Sunglasses or protective eyewear
    • Refillable water bottle

    For your safety, please do not wear open-toed shoes, shorts, or dangling jewelry.

    We will provide you with:

    • Gloves
    • Life jackets
    • Drinking water (please bring a refillable bottle)
    • Sunscreen
    • Insect repellant
